Journal Week 2

Well folks we did it!!  We talked Jo into writing a Weekly Journal page!  That way we told her, we could keep all you folks up to date on our lives and you could get to know us better.  We all got together when Jo was at work one morning, (she only works mornings at her office now) and decided that each weekend we would take our turns telling you of  our past weeks adventures and events in our lives at Tiny Rascals Aviary.

 First Stop - Breeding Hut

While we did hatch all five of our babies, Jo was still a little displeased with us.  She took all our babies from us real early, says we still have a lot to learn.  While we preen and preen our babies, I guess we still haven't got the nack of giving them enough to eat.  She gave a couple of them to Pig Pen and Jesse for a couple days to feed, then pulled them herself.  Our fourth guy (not our fault!) got a little too far down in the nesting material and sufficated.  That was enough for Jo, we lost 'em all!!.   Hurray, It's our turn this week.  Were Lucy and Linus by the way.

Pig Pen and Jesse are back in the Resting Room for a much needed rest.   Cookie and Coby have started hatching their babies this week and so far have two guys with plum eyes, that has Lou excited.  Then ya got Brooke and Dhillon who near gave Jo a heart attack this morning when she opened their nest to see how the eggs were doing and discovered they had seven eggs.  She's hoping they do better with this clutch than they did with their first clutch.

Matt and Mattie  got separated this week and sent back to the Resting Room with new husbands (Jo is sure of the husbands as they were DNA sexed ).  After watching them go KaBoom to the floor for three weeks, Jo figures they were both little ladies!.   Now of course the two new couples  need new names, any ideas???    Then we got :Lacy and Webster who have the grand total of six eggs their sitting on and Toby and Emient who started laying this week as well.  Flo and Foxy who if you remember, where trying awful hard to make their nest in the Resting Room, are here building fast and furious.  Are they ever happy!!.

Lets see who else is here, oh ya, Opal and Archie are here as of yesterday, which Jo is awful excited about.  Then we also gots a lutino linny with a green linny husband  out here with us, who Jo is also looking for names for.  They just got together a couple  weeks when Jo got their DNA done.   Jo is waiting a couple days, letting them get used to their new surroundings, before putting a nest with them.  They never been here before.

Well I guess we better go for now and let the Resting Room have their turn.

 Second stop, Resting Room.

In our Resting Room this week, we have pretty much been ignored and we are not so happy about that!.  Jo and Lou have been on vacation and as you can see from the pictures, been pretty busy.  Oh well,  as long and she cleans and feeds us, I guess we can't complain for ONE  week, (as long as she dosen't make it a habit!!)

For the little bit of talking to be done here this week, I guess I get my turn.  My name is Siss and I am a grass parakeet, a girl one, sitting on 5 eggs all my myself.  Jo has been looking and looking but she can't find me a husband.  PLEASE HELP!!  If not, she says she is going to sell me.  This is the third clutch of eggs I have laid all my myself and not only do I feel lonely, Jo feels bad.

Jo has pretty much got all those linnies paired up in here this week.  As far as her and Lou have figured they have a lonely female sky blue linnie they are looking for a husband for and  have two darkgreen guys (not sure of sex) that they are going to sell.  If your interested send Jo an e-mail.    Guess they figure with the whiteface they have coming in two weeks out of quarantine from Belgium, they need to downsize.  When they got all those linnies, they knew they would have to sell some  when all the sexing got done.  I don't think they are very nice, keeping all the nice blue guys and selling some of the green guys!!.

Oh, forgot to ask, Do you think Nicky is as spoiled as we all are!!.  She even gets to sleep under the covers!!.

Third and Final Stop – Nursery

As we figure we pretty much have control of this room, we'll talk this week.  We are the three babies of Tilly and Tidbit. Jo has been spending her week trying to teach us some manners.  Slate masked next door here.

Hi all, we are three spoiled rotten linnies who have (and want) nothing more in life than to sit on our drawbridge and gaze around.  Boys do we give Jo a hard time when it comes to going home.  Anyone who didn't know us, would figure we were a whole lot cross and nasty.  But the problem in this house, is Jo knows us, and won't let us get away with nothing!!.  Me, the sky blue guy sitting on the corner, Jo gets a great chuckle out of me.  I try and nibble her finger and she goes "Ah,Ah,Ah"  well I mimick her right back "Ah,Ah,Ah," but hey Jo's impressed, I stop nibbling.  The other two are the same way, but they haven't tried to mimick her yet.

Then you got Mork and Mindy's  little slate guy here.  He/she is just adorable.  Charlotte, a good friend of Jo's from Chester, who has the Potato Chip Syndrome real bad, is thinking about this guy.  Only trouble is she was here this  week to pick up her violet whiteface baby and we are not sure if she is allowed to buy more than one a month!!!.  (So far has bought three from Jo!).

Betty's cobalt and Brooke's normal whiteface went to their new homes in N.S. this week and are pretty happy Jo hears.  They left as a couple.    Betty's pied (Bebop as Jo called him) also left this week for his new home in Moncton.

As for newbie's in here, we have five of Pig Pens and four of  Lucy and Linus's.  Lucy and Linus's are the real small farts and have Jo feeding them every 2 hours.  (ALL NIGHT AS WELL!!).  A lady from Fredericton who has already purchased a lovebird from Jo for her daughter, is coming to pick out one of these small farts ( when they get bigger and some attitude of course!) for her other  daughter.

I'm sure Jo will be carting in some of Betty's soon that are hatching and also Cookie and Coby's.

We heard the Resting Room was complaining Jo was not spending time with them last week.  Ha,Ha we still got our attention.  She even let almost all of us out at once quite a few times to mingle and play together.  We just loves that!.  We all get up and sit and gaze out the window.    Things are gonna change soon though as there is a bunch of us almost ready to go. Sob,Sob,Sob.

Hope to see all you folks again Next Week.  Jo wanted us to apologize to you for her this week, as being on vacation has put her behind.  Next week she promises a lot more pictures for you with much more reading.

Jo never even got to work on the Guest Book this week.  Soon we promise!!!.

In the meantime if you like, you could e-mail your comments to her.    Or maybe you have a question?   She'd be more than happy to answer you.

Bye for now .................

.............Did you know a lovebird is like a Potato Chip ...................................................One is never enough!!!  (Jo's proof!!)

JOURNAL WEEK 3

First Stop - Breeding Hut

Hi, Cookie and Coby  here ....   and we're the proud parents of three new babies.  We'll give you a little hint, one has plum eyes, one has red eyes and the last guy has black eyes.  Any guesses?  I don't know why Jo put "our" names so small and Little Pearl's and Seawilly's so big!!

And also out here this week came the spoiled Peanut and Kibbles. They pulled a Betty and Barney on Jo, but she caught them and had them out here three days before they started laying.  Then we hear Little Pearl and Seawilly actually got to stay in the Resting Room to have their clutch.  Hummmm, wonder if we all go and get egg bound, if we could stay in the Resting Room to clutch??  We'd laugh if they all got going in there now.  Lou might wanta start building more nest boxes!!!!!!!!!!

Oh ya, and talk about nest boxes, we also heard Jo has us all new nest boxes coming from Ontario.  Can hardly wait to see 'em.  Imagine, supposed to be dishwasher proof!!.  As long as they are nice and roomy we'll be happy!  No more threats of bacteria and germs for our eggs!!

Now lets see .... who else is out here?  Well I know Lacy and Webster are down yonder there and their babies started hatching yesterday.  Then ya got  Toby and Emient upstairs there.  Now that's a good (well really not so good) story.  Remember Brooke and Dhillon were out here sitting on 6 eggs and last week we told you Jo discovered they had laid another one.   The next day, Jo checks again and finds ANOTHER egg.  Jo is starting to get a little skeptical now, so she feels the eggs.  ICE COLD.   Jo is starting to really scratch her head now, as this is another first for her.  She pulls the last two eggs (keen eye tells Jo this)  and gives them to Toby and Emient to sit on and pulls the other six, hoping Brooke will stop laying.  I don't think so!.  Brooke lays another and then goes back to play again instead of sitting on the egg.  Guess who got another egg and who got sent to the Resting Room!!

Opal and Archie are still here but no performances from them yet.  Boys are they slow!! I think Opal is just shy cause of her new hubbie and all.   But then  also sitting upstairs is Flo and Foxy and they didn't do nothin yet either.  Wonder what their hold up is??  They were all hot to trot in the Resting Room, going fast and furious when they first  got here,  then puff, all of a sudden  everything is on hold ....but I don't think they have ever been in this Room before, so they might need some adjusting time maybe.

O.K. enough of our chatter, let's move on.

Well we thought we were gonna move on, Archie wants  to say something I guess.

Hi Archie here .... and I have a story about one of my kids I heard that Jo and Lou went to visit this week.  Guess his new parents called him "Shreck" and he is a pretty funny little guy.  His new Mom and Dad had never heard him laugh, talk, nothin before.  Jo and Lou arrive, Shreck took one look, (now remember he hasen't seen Jo for a month) and was on Jo's finger and up her arm, saying "Hello" and snuggling her face, purring like a kitten in two seconds flat!!.  His new Mom and Dad were in shock!!  Apparently he has never done this with them (YET .... Time and Patience always pay in the end).  Everyone (there were 8 people in the room) took to laughing LOUD.  Well the joke was not over, as Shreck took to laughing like he had been doing it all his life.  As much as everyone was in shock, they could not stop laughing and in turn Shreck laughed and laughed, louder and louder.   Moral of the story ...........We are pretty smart little fellows, don't ever under estimate us.  Just work with us, have patience and time to play.  Remember Jo does leave a pretty lasting impression on our kids, as she does have a big hand in getting them ready for this big wide world.

AND boys do I have another story for you.  Jo collected her friend Jo and they both took me to the Vet this week.  Reason ........... to get my beak clipped of all things!!!.  So what if it's long, who cares!  Well obviously Jo did.  Said there was no way I could feed babies with a beak like that!.  So Dr. Cook trimmed it down for me and took great care and patience with Jo and the other Jo to show them how to do it next time.  Well we are convinced you will never see "our" Jo do it, hence why she took the "other Jo" with her!!.  (has nothing to do with the fact that the "other Jo" also has one of Jo's baby cobalt linnies and may have to do this herself someday).

 Second stop, Resting Room.

So who cares if we are messy.  Certainly not us, we don't have to clean it!.  Jo's catching on though,  our food dishes have got put to the bottom of the wall, means some actually stays in our home!.  And chew, we could win a prize for that I am sure.  Must be a Fischer trait .....

Folks, you don't want to be in the Resting Room this week!!!.  Let's see who turn is it,  O.K. we'll let Candy and Mango talk.  They say they never had a turn yet.

O.K. so we're the messiest two guys here, but holy comolie we can't even come close to the noise Squak has been making all week.   Remember last week  Siss was tellin you all about Matt and Mattie.  Well Matt and Mattie were not doing much of anything in the Breeding Hut and Squak, here in the Resting Room with her new mate, was making such a stir, Jo took her and new mate and put them in the Breeding Hut (no box of course .... she just wanted to get her away from her old mate ..... so they would stop talking) .......  Squak is a female green linnie (and came by her name quite easily this week!!) who got separated from her mate, after DNA results came in.  Jo is trying to repair her with another normal green linnie.  Obviously it is not working out, so her new mate and her got separated this morning and put back in the Resting Room.  The  whole time they were in the Breeding Hut, Squak was trying to make time with Archie and succeeded in causing trouble in that relationship.  Oh life is never dull here at Tiny Rascals.  Poor Squak is all by herself now and has not shut up  since.

Then we know you heard about Little Pearl, but we'll by-pass that spoiled one..... poor Siss is still sitting over there on her five lonely eggs.  Jo found a home for her this week, so in a couple weeks she'll be leaving us.

Oh, but we did hear thru the grapevine that there are more of those whiteface guys arriving in a week or two.  Another 4 I think,  with another 6 on order for August.   I think the four coming in a week or so are pretty normal violet whiteface (if you call that normal!) but in August they got these long handles like "violet pastel spangle (silver cherry) cinnamon whiteface" .  Now that's a mouthfull

Third and Final Stop – Nursery

Now aren't you's all just in love.  Ya, we are those violet whiteface again, just a pulling, tugging and having a great time with this shredded paper.  First time we ever saw this stuff, hey guys!!.

Hi all, we are "a bunch" of those whiteface guys and buddy over there told us we were getting moved next weekend downstairs to the Real Big Boys Room.  See we are not leaving here till next month sometime, I know I heard in the meantime we are all getting one of those toenail jobs to divide the girls from the boys.  Then I think we are all getting shipped up to Ontario somewhere on the "Big Big Bird" (Plane in case you didn't know!).

Over there is "Tucker" as Jo calls him, as he just loves to be tucked into her pocket.  He is a mauve masked, the one and only of Mork and Mindy.  He is living all by his lonesome so Jo gives him extra time and carries him around.

I hear Candy and Mango's three are still with us and about 7 more guys downstairs.  Jo opened out all the apartments this week, so we all have extra space for the week.  All and all it's going to be pretty lonely around here next week, as with us 7 whiteface going down to the Big Boys Room,  and I think Jo is letting about 13 more go next week as well.    Rumor is they want to rip out our carpet and replace with "their not sure yet" stuff!!  Can't much blame Jo as we are always spilling our food, or running around on the floor and leaving little surprises "everywhere".   Heard Lou wants to put in floating floor and Jo is giving him a hard time saying "no way we are too messy", just do something cheap.  Imagine, the nerve of her!!.  But then we heard that  floating floor stuff is pretty slippery, imagine taking a skid on that!!!!!!!.

Well we gotta go for this week as we have someone coming to visit with those spoiled linnies and pick one out.

Here we are, it's June already here and here's our report as of June 3rd, 2002.

Hi all, I'm the adorable little fello Jo calls Tucker and I sits and sits and chatter to Jo all day.  Says I'm special.   I got this little bell that I just love to ring. Enough cuuing and caaing over me, I gotta get on with the story as it's way past my bed time!

May as well stay with the same old routine - First Stop - Breeding Hut   and out there I see Cookie and Coby are leaving .  We got their babies in Our Room now.  Oh and who's that going in.... ............ why I think it's  Nana and Nigel (Jo must figure maybe their ready now!)  and there goes Mattie and Matt in again as well.  What's going on, they just left?  Maybe everyone's in the mood now?!  Oh and I hear my Mom and Dad have 2 more eggs.  Oh I sure hope they do better this time.  Rumor has it, Peanut has two so far.  Lacy and Webster are proud Mom and Dad's again, one green series and one blue series so far.  Archie and Opal have settled down again and Opal exploring the nest box now.    Second Stop - Resting Room  Squak  is still going strong.  Poor Jo feels so bad for her.  She is mellowing somewhat, so Jo is hoping  she's calming down.  Everyone is just a chattering down there today, they heard Little Pearl is sitting over there on an egg already.  Only been 4 days since she had a nest box!. Jo is happy, so far so good with her.  Siss got herself another egg today, poor girl!.  You can tell Peanut and Kibbles are not down there, there's been no escapees lately.  Well maybe so, I think I heard Candy got out last Sunday and she's as hard to catch as Kibbles.  They are smooth, smart and oh, so fast!!.  But lets get going to the Third Stop - My Nursery that's where all the stir is going to be this week.   Wait till you see the pictures Jo is getting ready for tommorow!!.  Jo's Mom got her this bird bath for us with frogs in the bottom.  She thought they (the bigger guys)  were going to be scared of it, so just sat it in the middle of the floor.  Well NO WAY.  Those guys were in there quicker than a wink, splashing, playing and having a great time. It's no fair!.  Jo says I'm still a little too little for that big bowl... they get to have all the fun.  But that's not the big stir going on.  This is the carpet tearing up weekend coming and Jo is getting ready.  I can tell this is going to be a long weekend. Today everything was leaving, our shelves of bedding, our medical supplies, our books, jee wilikers.  .. it's all going next door.  All us guys are spending the weekend next door too.  Wonder what we are getting for a floor???  and I can't talk no more today peoples.  I have to get to bed, I'm tired.  Goodnight

That's right folks,  time for Journal time for June 4th and 5th. Pssssssssssss.  Wanta hear a little secret ...... It's Lou's Birthday

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOU!!!

            We love you

So you all wanta hear the lastest, well Lacy is out in the Breeding Hut and she has got herself another baby.  She's a pretty good Mama, so far so good with her.  She'd doing all the right stuff Jo says.  Both Peanut and Mindy have themselves another egg each and other than that, the last two days out there have been pretty boring so lets get on to the Resting Room.  Things are not much more exciting in there I hear.  Two of the linnies tried to get in a fight last night, but Jo put the Kibosh on that in a hurry.  They soon settled down.  Little Miss Pearl is sitting over there with two eggs now and it's hard to believe but we do believe that Squak is settling down finally.   Oh and the latest rumor ....wanta hear it ............  Jo is trying to get some cinnamon lineolateds.  No promises yet, but she will know soon I guess.  May as well, I think that's about the only colour of those guys not here yet!!  Oh well looke there, here comes Jo with our popcorn.  Sorry folks you may as well get on up to the Babies Room, cause it's movie time here, (we get the popcorn but not the movie .. hardly seems fair!!)   O.K. we are in the Babies Room and it's Tucker here talking, yes again, so what!!  I got to tell you my funny story ...... Jo did not think it was so funny at the time.... said she'd wished that she had her camera close by!.  It goes like this ..... I was having dinner yesterday .... so you say, big deal huh, well dear old Jo wasn't going fast enough for my likings, so picture this.  A plastic coffee cup, half full of formula (so I messed up the other guys dinner as well), then you got me who I now am 5 weeks old and can fill that coffee cup quite nicely ...... well means Jo was going soooooo slow, I decided to help myself and before Jo knew what was going on,..... in I went head first !!!.  All Jo could see was my little fanny sticking out!!!.  Now does anyone have any idea how you get a 5 week old baby, who completely fills the coffee cup, out of it without pulling him by the fanny!!!.  Ask Jo, with great difficulty she says!!!!!!!!.  Boys was it good and boys oh boys was I a mess.  I was formula from one end to the other (great way to get a bath!!).  Any bets I'll get another chance??  and another thing I heard today, when I get to leave here,  I heard I may  be going all the way to Chester, Nova Scotia to live with Billy Elliot and Baby, who left here last month (oh and there is another one of our crew there, but I don't think he has a name so far).  Can hardly wait!!!.   So I have to get all my talking in now.  Jo is ripping that carpet out fast and furious as I sit here all day and watch her.  I know she promised all you folks some pictures today, but now she is saying tommorow as she wants to get our Room back to normal as quick as possible.  HAHA to JO

Hello Folk, Computers fixed, Floor's almost done and our JOURNAL is BACK for June 12, 2002

Come on guys, get your bath, cause we're leaving tommorow!!

We're some of Pig Pen and Jesse's babies

Really I'm not asleep, I'm just fooling poor Tucker!

Shrek's back for the night,   on a sleepover as Jo's going to DNA sex him for his new Mom and Dad.  You want to chat, well Shrek can talk, believe you me!

Hi, my name is Willow and I am an Amercian Cinnamon whiteface, I'm beautiful and I knows it!!  I'm only 8 weeks old and Jo and Lou are keeping me. Wouldn't you!!  My brow and face will get whiter, I'm told when I get my first molt.    All seven of us whiteface babies got our toes clipped the other day, Jo told us it was for DNA sexing or something.  It was not so bad, they didn't hurt us.  They were supposed to do Sky's toes to, for his new Mom and Dad, but  they decided to wait till he was a little older.   Our new floor is all done here, cept for the closet they got to do yet, we got new shelves, new table for the Brooders, boys oh boys what a switcharue in this Room. And wouldn't ya know it, just when we get a nice new room, all us whiteface got moved way down to the Resting Room.  See, while myself and Kadoodle (pied whiteface),  are staying with Jo and Lou, the rest of the guys are sold and leaving when they get the DNA back.  But have no fear Jo still has 20 babies up there in that Room.  She's got some seagreen cinnamon pieds, some cinnamons of  Betty's, some  pieds of Pig Pens (two of them are sold to a lady and going all the ways to TO),  some cobalts and slates and then she's got some of Lacy and Webster's that she's not sure what they are yet.  Oh ya,  we got three more of those sky blue linnie babies only 3+ weeks old.  Then ya got good old Tucker, spoiled rotten and Prince of  the Nursery.  He got hold of the side of Jo's glasses the other day and you wanta see something funny, Jo's glasses going up and down to the speed of light!!.  Lots of power in those beaks!!.

Now that I am down in the Resting Room, I can sure let you know what's going on here.  Squak is still squaking and wants nothing to do with anyone Jo tries to introduce her to.  She wants her cobalt mate back and thats, thats!.  Lacy and Webster I see are back after nursing 5 babies, all with red and plum eyes.  You know what that means don't ya?  Sydney and Slick are missing so they must have left to go to the Breeding Hut.  Bout time, they haven't been there for a looong time.  Little Pearl over there stopped laying after she laid that first egg.  Jo gave her a different version of a nestbox than she is used to, she still made a nice big nest, but Jo figures this is why she stopped laying.  Jo's keeping a sharp eye on her, so we'll keep you posted.  You know Bettys back, cause every night at feeding time, out she comes to sit right smack on the top of  Jo's head.  She is such a funny one, NEVER wants to fly around the room, just quite content to sit on Jo's head or shoulders.    Now let any of the other guys out in here and see what happens!!!.

Let's truck on  out to the Breeding Hut and see what's what.  Peanut says  she and Kibbles have 6 eggs now and that Flo and Foxy next door started laying  their  eggs on Monday.  Then Toby tells me her and Emient's chicks should start hatching next week.  Mindy is sitting on a whooping 6 eggs and that husband of hers, Mork, is just a blast.  Jo can't even get her hand in the cage to change food dishes, but he jumps right in the dish and starts eating.  Jo's trying to get the food dish attached to the side and Mork just continues munching away!!.  Jo is so hoping this clutch goes O.K. for them.  If all their babies are like Little Tuck, they'll just make your heart melt!.  Now if my counting is good, we have four pairs of linnies out here and in all colours!.  Let's see who beats who with these eggs.  (None yet).  Well yes, Sidney and Slick are out here, but they have NO nest box??  What's that Peanut ........... Oh, Jo is debating whether to wait a couple days till her new nestboxes get there.  Lucky guys, may get the first brand new nestbox.  Lets see if they like it.

June 15, 2002 - A Journal to wish all the Dad's here a HAPPY FATHER'S DAY

Happy Father's Day DAD'S

from Little Tucker and our friend Julie here at Tiny Rascals Aviary!!

June 16, 2002 -

How do you like our new and improved "Nursery"?  This is the weanzie baby side. And this is us Big Guys Pad of Apartments!!.   Jo puts us padding on the window sills as we love chewing on them and she dosen't allow that.
Hi Folks, I'm Lucy and Linus's littlest baby.  Jo used to feed me pretty good, but for some reason she has cut me back, so I guess I will just fend for myself!  Foods not bad here.  There's a whole bunch of us little guys in here now.  I knows there is only three of us little linnies, but there's 3 of Cookie's, 4 of Betty's, 5 of  Lacy's and then Pig Pen's got 5 bigger guys in the Upper Apartments.  I also know we have got a lot of cinnamons among us right now and some of them are pretty s.  I think 4 of Lacy's are still over there in the Brooder.     Some kids just have no manners, does he not know that is what perches are for???   I hear our Big Buddy "Sky" left yesterday but Tucker is still ruling up there.  Jo is getting strickter with Tucker now and making him stay in his Apartment more, So he'll eat more, she says.  Old Tuck sure don't like it, but we do as now we get more time out now!

If Jo could work that camera properly, you would see that we are really kinda cute little gafers  We are two of Cookies and one of  Betty's here.  Jo loves us at this age, as we just kinda run and scurry around on our wobbly little legs.    There's more of us this size next door.  In the picture across here is ... Let me seee.. the guy in the front.. the cobalt is Betty's oldest, the other two are a cobalt and a cobalt pied of Pig Pens.

So they get on down to the Resting Room.  Well dear old Betty is causing quite a riot in here.  I guess Jo is going to move her tommorow.  She made the mistake of putting her in a unit other than her regular one "the one right in the doorway .... figures she should be spoke to first every time Jo or Lou enter  the Room".  Now if that isn't spoiled.  She has been just a yipping and jumping since she got back here.  Every time Jo opens her door, puff shes out and up on Jo's head.  Squak got moved again yesterday too, smack ... right beside the new boyfriend Jo picked for her.  Now this should be interesting to watch ........!.  Jo must be getting slack, because I guess she did the same thing with Pig Pen and Jesse.  She bought them back in and put them up in the six unit and they are being the opposite of Betty.  All quiet and shy, which is not like them at all.  They too, being spoiled, are usually on the opposite side of Betty and Barney as you enter the Room and I guess Jo is moving them back to their usual spot as well.   Why can't they be like "most" of the rest of the guys and don't care where they get put?  As Jo says "Never a dull moment"!.

In the Breeding Hut, Toby and Emient got youngings hatching.  Now Jo is confused ..(but only for a week or so she says).  Remember she gave three of Brooke and Dhillon's eggs to Toby to sit on, well Toby's were due to hatch one day and Brooke's the next.  Sure enough Toby got hers one day and another hatched today, so Jo's not sure if it's Brooke's hatching or Toby's.  We'll keep you posted.  Flo and Foxy are laying eggs upstairs there and other than that pretty quiet out here.  Jo has got those two lutino linnies out here again and they are laying eggs.  Only trouble is, even thought they are "supposed" to be a male and a female, Jo is not convinced.  She says if by the end of the week, theres 10 eggs there, she'll know!!.   Things will start buzzing in here again next week as Peanut's and Mindy's babies will start hatching.   Nana and Nigel and Opal and Archie are still out there, but Jo thinks  that " They Think"  their there on vacation!

June 19, 2002 - And here's our Journal update

I'm 26 days old today and already he's trying to put the make on me!!.

Jo's guess is that I'm a little cinnamon slate.

Toby here, I'm taking a little break from the babies.  Wow, but I'm busy.  Remember they told you two days ago, I had two babies.  Well now I got five babies and three eggs to go.  I am a REAL good Mom, but Jo still took two from me today, as I still have three eggs to go she says.  My babies are all "big" and "strong" Jo says.  Now I have to hurry up and get on with the Journal as I have a reputation to uphold!.

Matt and Mattie (a green linny and a lutino Mom linny) down below me have three eggs now.  Flo up there have the usual six, Sydney -  we are still not sure what she's up too yet, same goes for Opal and Nana.  Maybe they are just waiting cause they heard Jo got the new nestboxes for us yesterday.  Not that it will do THEM any good this time!!.

O.K. here in the Resting Room Betty is causing more casos than you can imagine!!.  It's too bad Jo does not have a movie camera, cause anyone would have to see this bird in action to believe her, words just couldn't do her justice.  Remember how Jo said she was quite content to come out and just sit on Jo's head?  Well now she wants out just to go around and cause disruption in everyone else's apartments!!.  She just dosen't fly around the Resting Room, no... Betty's gotta stop and poke her nose in everyone else home to taunt them!!.  Today Jo would not let her out, and she just pranced around her home all day.  Jo can't even go near her home or she is at the door, EXPECTING to be let out and just screeches for Jo to let her out!!  Poor Jo, dosen't know what she's gonna do with her!!  And all the rest of us here only have one word for Queen Betty, SPOILED   Oh, but there were two linnies she wasn't brothering today, two olives linnies trying to do their thing.... they obviously didn't care if we ALL watched or not.  Guess they'll be going away for awhile.  Those two don't even have names yet, as Jo's not sure if they are a mated pair or not.

Up in the Nursery things are speeding up.  Babies are most all in apartments now, cept for 4 of Lacy's and the two weanzie guys Jo pulled today of Toby's (and Brooke's).  Most of the babies are right at the age Jo just loves.    They all just woddle along and trip all over their own feet in their hurry either to get to the food or back under their fuzzy bears.  Jo laughs and laughs.   Course Tucker's still there keeping his eyes on them all.  Jo was feeding babies at the Brooder today with Tucker right behind her.  He starts yepping for attention, so Jo turns to talk to him and sees him staring out one eye at her as if to say "Why am I in here and your out there?" and Jo just cracks up again.

Now I'm sorry but I have to get to feeding my babies ...............

And We are Back ............Journal - June 24, 2002 -

You should hear all those guys Jess,  their saying "Why is it always, always, always Tucker who gets his picture took?"  They should know everyone loves me!!!!!!!

But we are NOT letting Tucker do the Journal, . .. we are going to vote  Matt out in the Breeding Hut to tell you, cause he's the one who's on a Big Time Out!.

So what, Jo's a little perturbed with me.  Let me tell you all what happened from the start and you's be the judges.  It all started last Thursday when Jo came out and discovered a little weanzie bit of blood on our food dish.  Well she gets all panicky and starts checking us both out,  closely.  Course she dosen't want to have to take Mattie out, as she's ready to lay an egg any time.  Well Jo discovers a bit of blood on the top of Mattie's leg.  Not wanting to touch her unless she has to, she turns the heat way up and keeps close eyes on us.  She comes out once and catches me hogging one egg and Mattie laying on the other two. Fooled her, she thinks I'm trying to be the nice guy!!    Well it wasn't 2 hours later and she caught me good.  Mattie had just  finally left  the nestbox, and I wasn't letting her back in. I wanted those eggs for ME.    I had her pinned to the floor  when Jo came in and saw what was going on.  Jo stood there for a few minutes giving me the benefit of the doubt, until Mattie tried to get in again and I wouldn't let her.  That was it.  Game over.  Out I came and I now sit quietly in a little home on the outside, looking in. Ha, but Jo's in a stew now.  She's be wondering for the next two weeks, what's gonna happen when she puts me back in!.    But you want to hear the best part ..... a lady had just called Jo the night before as her  Dad was doing the same thing (only his babies were already hatched) to the Mom.  Letting her have no part of the babies.  Jo gave her a few ideas what to do, but said "she had never had this happen to her".  Twis the very next day, I did this to my wife!!!.  So means I'm sitting here all alone, I got lots of time to gossip and snoop around.  Opal laid her first egg today, Peanut up top there has two babies so far in two days hatched, Mindy (ya, Tucker's Mom) hatched her first one again today.  I think Toby and Emient are loosing their babies (don't tell them yet) tommorow and going back to the Resting Room.  Jo caught some more linnies in action on the weekend in there I guess, two olives  and a sky blue and cobalt, so I guess they will be coming out.  Ya, they will even get to try out the new nestboxes Jo got this week.   Jo just got the sexing on those guys, so I don't think they have names yet.

Other than that in the Resting Room, things are pretty much the same.  Jo thinking she might try Squak and the new guy tommorow (joke, joke).  Jo's been busy, her and Jesse,  making us all new perches and toys.   All different shapes and sizes.  Mostly she uses real tree branches but for some she uses dowels (probably because she has to go scoff more branches!!).  She even bought this thick braided cotton and has it all strung over the linnies cages and they run along it.  They love it. I can hardly wait to get back to the Resting Room and try it out!!.  Take note of Tuckers new perch.  The Jess picked out all his special (as he called them) beads to make Tuckers perch.   S P O I L E D...  He said when Tucker goes to his new home, HE gets to take his with him.  You imagine, when Jo undertakes to make us ALL  a new perch, count them up, and she's gotta make about 44 and Tucker gets to take his home!!!  Wonder who's gonna be the next Teacher's Pet!!.

Jo's bought this new material to make the Nursery new curtains.  She found some blue material with Sylvester and Tweety dressed as cowboys (I think) and some pink with rubber duckies on it.  She couldn't decide which to buy, so she bought both and said shes gonna make one panel in pink for the girls and one in blue for the boys!.  Now how do you like that!!.   Then she's gotta make some Happy Huts for some peoples.  We love them!.  She won't let them have them anymore in the Resting Room, as they try and use them as you know whats!!.   Boys oh Boys there are some awful pretty babies up there again though!.  Some cobalt pieds,  seagreen slate cinnamons, some cinnamon pieds, some slate cinnamons, some amercian cinnamons (lots of cinnamons huh), some whiteface violets again, a whole bunch her and Lou haven't even made their minds up yet on the mutation as they are not feathered enough.  Jo has got 4 in an apartment, one is lemon colour with a pure white rump, one is lemon with a slate rump, one is lemon with a blue rump and the youngest guy is yellow with a big red face!!!.  Jo says their just adorable when they all come running to the door at once to get fed.  They are just a month or so old now.     If you want their exact mutations, just send Jo an e-mail.  Then I guess I better not forget Lucy and Linus's babies are there too.  Jo laughs at them.  She's trying so hard to feed them and all they want to do is zap away she says.  At least the lovebirds know enough to stop squaking long enough to eat!

Well I'm going to go for now and take my afternoon snooze.  Don't be surprised if you don't hear from us tommorow and the next day too maybe, besides us to fuss over, curtains to make, Jo bought 94 perenials to plant today!!

Journal - June 29, 2002            and poor Jo dosen't know what to do.  She says July is almost here and now she's in a stew what to do with June's Journal Pages.

Now do I look like I would get into trouble??  So I'm told, Jo was not too impressed (even though she laughed the whole time she was ripping) with me today.  She had on a pair of sweat pants, you know the ones with the lining.  So I am running around the floor at her feet, trying to crawl up her leg, when I discover this little hole at the bottom of her pant leg.  In I sneak, Jo's not paying attention .. she is feeding my sibling, and before she knows it, I am half way, just a running, up her inside pants!!  She had to rip her pants open to get me out!!!.   The other day I snuck up her shirt sleeves and came out at the neck.  These are pretty fun games I think.
Oh and guess what else happened today.... Tucker left to go to his new home.  Charlotte, we talked about her before, she has a whole wack of Jo's babies now.  She has them all in "big" single cages, as I guess Charlotte wants no part of the hanky panky!!  She also could not resist one of Pig Pen and Jesse's pieds and bought one of them as well.  So now I guess Jo owes Jesse, her grandson, five bucks.  See Jesse and Jo have this deal that for every one of Jesse and Pig Pen's babies sold, Jo's Jesse gets five bucks.  So that's it for Charlotte for this month,  wonder what next month will bring her....!!!!  She just loovveess us guys!!!  Jo says were it not for her, Tucker would never have left here.  See he had this unique little thing with his right ear.  Never grew any feathering over it!!!.   He was a going concern in all other areas of his life, Vet says was just a unique little characterist of his very own.  Jo was very concerned with dust and dirt getting in it.  But she is very happy that he has gone to live with Charlotte and Ray and the rest of the gang there.  We have all colours of the rainbow in here with us now.  Cobalts, slates, seagreen slate cinnamon, seagreen creaminos, slate silvers, cobalt pieds, violet and slate masked, violet whiteface, sky blue linnies, should I go on???  The pieds there, they are pretty lucky, they got the window apartment and Jo opens their drawbridge and puts a ladder (imagine) up to the top sill for them, and lets them climb up and gaze out the window.  When do we get our turn I ask???  We all got one of the new swing perches Jo and Jesse have been making all week and are they ever nice.  We love chewing on the branches.
So out to the Breeding Hut we go and let's get the scoop there for you.  Matt's off his time out, for now anyway!!.  Jo put him back in with Mattie yesterday and so far, he's been sitting there looking pretty sheepish.  Don't think he liked that time out.  Opal so far has 4 eggs now I hear and Mindy and Mork have 4 babies (guess Jo's pulled two so far ... says she's not taking any chances... last one just arrived  in our Nursery a few hours ago), Peanut has 4 babies also so far, Nana and Nigel well Jo is still waiting on them,  Sydney and Slick ... Jo says their quite a pair.  Says their lazy!!.  Remember she is the one that is so sloppy with her babies,  now she even expects Jo to build her nest for her!  So every day Jo robs the other guys nice shredded paper they shred for their nest and puts it in her Sydney.  Then Sydney takes it and pats it all down nice!.  Jo just shakes her head.  Guess Dot and Dash are back out here as well.  Then you go Candy and Mango, STILL in the Resting Room and building a nest fast and furious in the corner.  Any bets they won't end up in the Breeding Hut tommorow!!.  Flo and Foxy are sitting up there pretty quiet as their babies are due next week.    Who cares if we are in the Breeding Hut, we forgot to tell you Jo finished our new curtains in our Nursery  and got all her flowers planted that she said she wanted to.  Then she made us some Happy Hut and made wreaths to hang in our homes of dried fruit.  Guess she's been pretty busy.

We also forgot to tell you when we were in the Nursery, that the sky blue linnies can fly now.  Jo always likes them to have flight for a couple weeks before she clips them.  She says she finds it gives them better coordination.  But they are just like the rest of them guys, NEVER want to be in their apartments!!.  Want to always sit on their drawbridges.  Only trouble is they fight with us, so Jo won't let us all out together.  Don't know why, the last linnies that lived there didn't mind us too much.  And before we move on to the Resting Room, isn't my sibling down below here, pretty handsome.  You ought to see him in person!!!!!
In the Resting Room, things are buzzing, or they will be soon!.  6 more guys, plus another violet masked arriving on the plane Monday.  They are more guys from Belgium that have just passed their disease tests.   Only some of them are Jo's though, she is getting them all sexed them pairing them with some of her babies for people.  Lou's been out cutting down willow trees for perches, Jo's been disinfecting cages, toys, getting things all ready for them.   New chirps should cause a stir for a couple days! Queen Betty is finally off her high horse, soon as Jo woke up and realized what her problem was.  She was used to having a swinging box as Jo calls them, boxes that have no bottom, that Lou makes.  They attach them to the top of the homes and they perch in them.  Not all the couples have one, but Betty and Barney were sure used to having one.  Soon as Jo gave it back to her yesterday, she calmed right down.  If only we could talk to clue Jo in sometimes!!  Then I hear the whiteface babies that got moved down there got a new ledge to sit on, that spans the whole length of their cages.  Wide enough that their food dishes are sitting there now and they still have room to run around.  Boys are they in second heaven.  Some others got some of those swinging boxes today as well and they all just love them ...
Pig Pen and Jesse, Brooke and Dhillon...., they all got new swinging perches as well, oh ya and I guess the sky blue linnie, the one sitting over in the corner all my HERSELF has  a new boyfriend coming Monday as well.  That should perk her right up.  A cobalt I hear.    Well as usual it's way past my bedtime and I guess I won't get a story tonight!!.   Maybe if I can stay out of Jo's pants!!!
