OUR POICEPHALUS  FRIENDS

     B

Please give a big welcome to our new poicephalus friends,  as well as Sophie and Quincy.  We have added MacGinnis and Gillian, (brown headed parrots - Poicephalus Cryptoxanthus),  Tex and Sasha (orange belly Senegals - Poicephalus Senegalus Mesotypus) and  the last of the new additions (Emery - aka Chummy aka Chumbum - aka Chum and Rosa - Red Belly Parrots - (Poicephalus  Rufiventris Rufiventris).

Poicephalus family of friends make absolutely wonderful pet parrots.  They are considered the perfect apartment parrot, due to their quiet nature and wonderful temperments.    They have a life span of 25+ years given the proper nutrition, air quality and environment.  Of the species we raise here the weight range would be 120 grams to 160 + grams, a lot depending on sex.   We are giving weights of our babies and adults here to date, as they can tend to run smaller, so don't be alarmed. These birds love to chew and play, so please don't deprive them of good study wood chewing toys and play time.   Their diets should consist of a good seed mix, a good pellet, lots of veggies, pulses, fruits, nuts,  etc, clean drinking water, lots of bath water.
