Well Jo, It's been one week now since Liza
has come home. To tell the truth
I'm totally shocked at how things have
turned out, yet come to think of it, I don't
know why I am??? Of course it would turn
out this way since all the birds came from
you LOL. JoJo as you know was a friend at
first site, walked right up to Liza and put
his head down for a good preening LOL.
Course Liza had no idea what he wanted. But
Higgins is the biggest shock! He has been
such a clip on with me that I figured for
sure that it would take months, if ever, for
him to accept Liza. Well I think Higgins
and Liza must have heard the term
"honeymoon" period and took it to heart.
Within a couple of days Higgins has gone
from "who the heck are you" to "man oh man
head over heals in love" :). The best part
is they love to be together WITH ME :).
Higgins is not the least bit jealous of
Liza. In fact he loves to preen her
while he gets preened from me LOL. And if
I'm preening her then he just wants to help
LOL. I'm sending you some pics so you can
see what I'm talking about LOL. Notice
in one that I'm rubbing Liza under her wing
and Higgins has turned his head totally
upside down trying to get a preen too LOL.
Liza, OH MAN, what a sweetheart. Just loves
to curl up in my hand and cuddle!!! No
wonder Higgins is sooooo taken with her, he
has good taste!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ricardo [Please call me Ricky - only
my new Dad ever calls me Ricardo!] is settling in
very well and is so good natured. He is very similar
to the little male Hahns in this respect - it must
be something to do with the way you bring them up!

JO! I just love my
little girl so much! You've done such a marvelous job of
socializing her. I had heard that poicephalus could be shy
and nervous and I was so afraid that she would be stressed
out with all the changes but we hit it off right away. She
is fearless and will go to anyone male or female(however her
distinct preference for me is flattering even if it is only
because she is most familiar with me) And you weren't just
kidding about the pea pod thing! She gives herself a pea pod
beard and when I laugh at her for it she gives me a puzzled
'what? do I have peas on my face or something?', look which
of course only makes it funnier! Saturday Night I went to
the airport to pick up my new pet and less than 24 hours
later I discovered that in fact she owned me! And I don't
mind a bit. Thank you so much. When you have a moment if you
could send to me some of those recipes you mentioned I would
make good use of them, Thanks again, RheganJO! I just love

August / 2005
Well Jo you did it once
again!!!!! When I
fell in love and brought JoJo home from your place last December
I thought I had the most perfect bird in the world. I have
felt that way now for almost a year. BUT it turns out
there is actually TWO perfect birds
in
the world and they are now both in my home. Higgins is a
dreamboat. From the moment he came through the door he has
been the most loving, calm but comical, busy little boy.
When I opened the door on his carrier he flew right to me and
it's been that way ever since. Nothing bothers him with
the exception of being put back in his cage at night ROFLOL.
Then we have a "catch me if you can" game as he runs around the
room :). Outside of the bedtime ritual, he is so so good
at his step ups. Even when he is in the middle of
something ya knowwww he doesn't want to leave, he will still put
his little foot out to step up the moment I tell him too.
He and JoJo have fast become best buds which just makes my life
perfect. It so warms my heart to see them together. Now
these two wonderful birds can be pals forever :). JoJo is
an extremely smart bird but I have never seen the likes
of Higgins intelligence LOL. He acts like he is always
studying things, be it my face, a toy, or a piece of food before
he eats it LOL. Whenever I speak to Higgins, Higgins
will make a few honking sounds like he is responding back to me.
AND THEN as if life wasn't already ideal and could get no
better..... what does Higgins do but starts talking LOL.
Last night when I came into the room and said where's Higgins,
he said "Hello". First time it happened I thought Nahhhh
he can't be talking already but sure enough he did it two more
times during the evening LOL :) it is something else to be
always greeted so warmly LOL. When I was talking to a
friend on the phone and was laughing at something that was said,
Higgins started to laugh as well :), it was just too cute. Then
when it was time to go to bed. I told the guys it was nite
nite time. Well JoJo as usually told me "Nite Nite" and
then didn't Higgins say "Nite". So I now have two perfect
guys who will keep me company and talk to me. My most
favourite part of the day now is when I'm sitting at my computer
reading my emails with Higgins and JoJo sitting on my shoulder
:>
There is just no way
I would ever get a bird from anyone else, I would truly be
setting myself up for disappointment if I did, as I would never
find anyone who could raise a better friend for me, this has
been proven to me over and over again. JoJo turned a year
in August and has never once been anything but a true joy of my
life and I truly believe it will be like that forever.
Higgins is starting down the same loving path. I totally
expect him to be a true joy and companioin for the rest of my
life as well.
Indebted to you
forever,
Gail

When Lesley and I first saw these wonderful birds at your house, well at
first I was a little skeptical, but when I heard “Bella” formerly
‘Pippin’ make that little cry of hers, my heart was stolen by something
so small and so sweet. I do not regret for one minute getting this
Little Macaw, she is my little girl and I love her. She goes everywhere
on my shoulder within the house, curious is not the word, she has to
check everything out, and make sure it meets her high standards of taste
and/or neatness. She is exactly what you said she would be, Loving,
Curious, and a Perfect Little Lady on my shoulder, I have not
experienced the fun of her taking a bath yet, but, that is because she
is so busy following me around sitting on my shoulder. I learn something
new about these gorgeous birds every day, but, the main thing that I
have learned is that I WILL BE BUYING MORE BIRDS FROM YOU AND LOUIS!!!!
If anyone asks, I will highly recommend you and your Aviary, the work
you do to raise these little angels is nothing short of absolutely
outstanding!!
Thank-You so much for letting Bella come into my Life, I Love
her to death, now I have to train her to accept the Feather Tether, but,
with the work you have already done with her, I will not have any
problems with that. Our Love to You and All your little Angels there……

I bought 2 breeding lovebirds from Joanne a while back, and have
3 beautiful Babies from them.....
I had a senegal at the time but there was a terrible accident
and I lost him, he was my baby..............so I knew Joanne had
baby hahns, even though I didn't know anything or not much about
them.......I decided I wanted one of them so I bought my little
Sweetie Shazza!!............Well he finely came home last friday...
and from the time he came out of his crate he has been a
Joy....I am so impressed with him I would LOVE to get another
one!!.....(maybe later)......they are smart, nothing really
bothers Shazza other than when I take Azibo in my bedroom and
spend time with him....Shazza ends up in Azibo's cage and starts
eating Azibo's food (pellets)....
Shazza would live on my shoulder if I would allow him
to..........he has the best personility, hasn't tried to nip or
anything........He is an amazing new baby, who will stop me from
working every chance he has.....
Joanne Thanks so much he is GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If I could afford One of the other babies I would......but I

Dec.
1, 2004 Hello
to all ! I have been a lurker here for a little while, learning
as much as I can about my little bundles of joy that were on order.
They arrived last Sat. safe and sound and I am so happy. They are
adorable ! Cute, quiet, intelligent, silly, fun...I can go on and
on.
The Boys (as I call them) are two brothers. The cobalt boy is named
Lazuli (after the semi precious stone Lapis Lazuli) and my green boy
I figured, hey he's green so he must have a wee bit o' Irish in him,
is called O'Reilly. Just had to tell all how adorable they both are.
My hat is off to their breeder (Joanne and Louis Cormier) for all
the
time they have taken to answer my countless emails and questions and
for taking the time and effort to raise such adorable little scamps.
I couldn't be happier. Linnies rule ! Kerri

Nov. 19, 2004
The little one is sitting on top of
his cage. He hopped on my finger as soon as I put it in the
travel box. We talked all the way home in the car, as he has
quite alot to say. What an adorable cutie! Thank you so much.
I am impressed with the travel cage too; nice sliding "door" at
the back. I will be off to get some Zupreem in the next few
minutes. Of course, I'll keep you posted as things develop too.
............later that day..........
Topaz has been riding around on my
shoulder, sitting on my head and holding onto my shirt collar. In
other words, he feels quite at home. I got some Zupreem and mixed
it with the seed and egg mixture and he must have spent an hour
munching on that. I still had some rope that was sold at one of the
bird club meetings so he now has something to climb up. He comes
out of the cage with "up", quite easily, so I am pleased. He is
very well socialized and has lots of energy. I love the colour of
his beautiful blue feathers! He's a sweetheart!

Oliver
is
a real delight! He loves cuddles, and lying on my chest and
being petted and held. He loves little blue and gives her
kisses.... I left them together for a couple of days (longer in
the cage) and they bonded more. He is a boy though and
adventerous but has learned where good perch places are, e.g. I
am at Michael's desk but he is sitting on mine about 3 feet
away.
I love YOUR BIRDS as they are such cuddley
babies.....and thank you so much for my Oliver.
If I get my hands on a digital camera from one of
the kids over the holidays, I'll send you some pics.

December 2004
Our family decided to adopt three
lineolated parakeets from Tiny Rascals in December. We brought
Tickles, Wiggles and Giggles to our home Boxing day.
What a wonderful addition!!!
It wasn't long after that I decided I
wanted a bigger bird as well, a bird that could be my shoulder buddy,
a snuggly friend is what I was looking for.
Of course I started researching and
decided the senegal was just the bird I wanted, and of course even
luckier was that Jo breeds those too! She is so amazing with her
birds, I knew from day one with my linnies that she was amazing with
these little guys because they came to our home so friendly and hand
tame already doing step ups and loving people and children (one of
them already says "step up" too).
From the day that Sugar (our new senegal)
joined our family I could tell she was the bird for us. she is sweet
as sugar!!!! She loves to perch on my shoulder, gives me kisses and
loves head tickles, she is so amazing, she is saying "nite nite"
too!!. Never having handled larger birds before, I was VERY nervous
the first day, but I very quickly realized there was no need to be,
she is so wonderful, many thanks to Jo and Louis for their loving
attenion to these wonderful creatures. I know down the road I will
most likely want more birds (they are very addictive!!) and Jo will be
the one to hear from me.
thanks again!

Dear Joanne,
I'm sitting here working at my desk and occasionally glancing over to
take a peek at JoJo (red belly parrot) (through the sheet I have
covering most of his cage so he can sleep while the light is on) and
just realized that I never really thanked you for the most awesome
bird I've ever known. He is everything I've ever wanted in a bird and
defines my idea of the perfect parrot. He is so well behaved. So
loving. So playful and self entertaining. While he is not overly
demanding or noisy he does love his cuddles and scrinches. When he
rubbed his little head against my cheek this evening in what I could
only interpret as a kindly loving gesture and then closed his eyes in
pure pleasure when I stroked the back of his head it gave me such a
feeling I have never experienced with an animal before (and I have had
many pets). Knowing the amount of trust he had to have in me to not
only allow that but to so obviously enjoy it. This is all due to the
love and care that you give each and every one of your babies. I
don't know but hope that you realize just what kind of babies you
raise for people but my hat if off to you for it. My linnies are
terrific, even Mali in her way (with Mandy) is terrific and there are
no words adequate enough to describe JoJo. Thank you for JoJo. The
decision to get him was the best one I could ever have made.

A
nice Mom in Sarnia Ontario was buying her 8 year old boy one of our
babies. The first four references here are letters sent to
her. With both parties approval of course!
|
|
December 1, 2003 Joanne had asked
me if I would mind giving her a letter of reference I
said "sure" I thought to myself this will be
so easy to do as I think so much of her. As I am
finding out it is a little hard to put my thoughts on
paper but I will try hard to explain just how good she
is.
It all started
when I bought a Lineolated Parakeet from a pet store.
I knew nothing
about that type of bird and really never received any
information on that type of bird from the pet store. I
started to search the web to get some answers, and yes
I did make several calls to different breeders, but
found myself phoning Joanne back. She was so easy to
talk to and didn’t make me feel silly for asking
simple questions that most of us new bird owner do not
know the answers. She informed me on care but also the
nutrition that the linnie would need. Through many
phone calls I had felt very comfortable with our new
addition to our home.
I have
purchased two linnies from her (Sky and Skylar) what
can I say but they are beautiful and so healthy....I
will never buy a bird from a pet store again! Thanks
to Joanne I have had a very wonderful experience
learning and purchasing these wonderful additions to
our family and I know I can phone her at anytime and
still receive quality help.
I would highly
refer anyone to Joanne as I found her to be the most
helpful, most understanding and knowledgeable breeder
that I had encountered.
Lynne Henry
Hello
Kiersten and Dylan,
Joanne
Cormier has asked me to forward a letter of reference
and it is with great pleasure that I do so.
When
my husband and I first started doing our
"homework" prior to getting our first pet
bird, we found Joanne's site on the Internet. We were
so pleased with all the information she provided but
it took me a couple of weeks to get up the nerve
to call her.
Well...the
rest is history! Joanne was marvelous. She was so
patient with me as I asked tons of questions.
Finally
we decided to travel to New Brunswick to meet Joanne
and Louis in person. My husband just kept reminding me
not to be too disappointed if "things"
weren't as I expected them to be. Well
"things" were not what I expected them to
be...they were hundreds of times better!
Joanne
not only has a wonderfully clean, fresh environment
for all her birds, she cares for each one individually
as though each were the only baby she has. Her love
for them is so apparent. We came home with a sweet
little baby that day and we have travelled back to
Joanne and Louis's home six more times for six more
babies. Our babies are so sweet it was so
obvious that they had received the best of care.
Dylan,
I know you and your family will love having your
new little baby. Your life is about to be taken over
by a remarkable, funny, sometimes stubborn yet oh so
sweet little bundle of joy. I wish you the best of
luck.
Sincerely,
Charlotte
Hello
Dylan and Kiersten,
You could not have made a better choice on where to
get a lovebird. Jo and Louis put a lot of time
and love into their birds. My wife, and now myself as
well, started with lovebirds last year July or
August and got birds locally here in the Toronto
area, we live in Brampton. We were not happy with
some of the birds we got, mostly through local
petstores. We came across Jo and Louis' web site and
fell in love with their birds. After several emails
and conversations we had 5 sent in for ourselves and
1 for a friend of ours.
They
exceeded our expectations The were shipped to
Toronto International airport and after some
problems with the airline sending them on a
different flight, It was cold and they were sent in
a plane with a heated cargo area, We got the birds.
They came in specially constructed cages that Louis
makes himself, very sturdy and safe. When we got the birds
home they were just adorable.
We
put them in their new cage and left them alone to
eat ,drink and get accustomed to the new
surroundings. The next day we let them out and
they were all over us,very socialized and friendly.I
was very impressed so much so that I have 2 or 3
more coming.
I
highly recommend Tiny Rascals and I personally
think they are the best aviary around. Dylan
will love the bird he will be getting and love
playing with it they really are little rascals.
Peter & Kathy
Hi
Kiersten,
Joanne
has asked if I would mind sending you a reference
and of course I was very happy to oblige her.
I have known Joanne and Louis for a couple of
years now. It started with our purchase of a
lovebird called Mali and a further purchase of two
linnie's called Sky and Skittles. I can
assure you that, firstly you will be getting the
best that you can buy by purchasing from
Joanne. Her love and devotion to these birds
and vast knowledge all shows up in the birds by
being the healthiest and tamest they can be.
She would never even consider putting one of her
birds in a dangerous or questionable situation as
her love for them is so strong, so based on this I
can assure you that the bird being shipped to you
will be perfectly fine. She does it all the
time with no incidences. I personally have
had the pleasure of being able to drive to get my
birds each time expect for the last bird which
they hand delivered to me. You would not
believe her place, words would not describe how
much these birds have been incorporated into her
home and life. On one final note the support
to you and your son that you are getting now will
continue after you get your bird. Joanne is
always available for questions before and after--
the is no difference. Any further questions,
please don't hestitate, just write me. Gail
Scott, Fredericton, NB PS I have attached a
picture of my babies.
To Dylan and mom
.I bought 3 love birds from Joanne and was so
happy with them that i bought 6 more from her a
month later....they are all good natured and in
beautiful feather .very clean and shipped in a
wonderful container that keeps them safe warm
and their tummys full with feeding dishes inside
....i would never hesitate to ever do business
with joanne ...she is always on the other end of
the phone or e-mails back to me right away with
my answers and concerns for the birds..i bought
a breeding pair from her and within 3 weeks they
laid eggs ....today we have 3 baby loves and
they are wonderfully taking care of the babies.
Also Guelph is a great place to take your bird
..i live an hour away and clean houses bi-weekly
fridays in Guelph....mike taylor is a wonderful
vet. and they have the golden triangle parrot
club there on the first wed of the month.
take care

I
just wanted to let everyone know how happy I am to
have found Tiny Rascals Aviary! We live in
Calgary, AB and were looking for a breeding pair
of lovebirds and
stumbled into Jo and Lou's website, what a
surprise! They have the most beautiful lovebirds
and take such wonderful care of them. Jo was so
helpful when it came
to answering any questions that I had. She told me
exactly what kind of pairs I would need to produce
the babies that I wanted and didn't get annoyed
when I asked
question after question ha ha. I would recommend
Tiny Rascals Aviary to anyone wanting to get a
beautiful, well taken care of bird. Thanks for all
the help Jo!
I hope to get some more birds from you in the near
future.
Thanks,
Amy
I got my colbalt
linnie "Blu" in november of 2002. She
arrived by air in the
middle of a snowstorm, safe and sound in her
little crate. She is the
sweetest and most gentle bird I have ever owned.
She has started talking and
says good boy. She tries to say girl but it comes
out as uuurrrl (everytime
I say good she says uuurrl). When I say "kiss
me baby" she makes a kissy
noise. I dont think that she knows how to bite
hard, even if I try to take
her out of her happy hut, she just applies
preasure, kind of like a squeeze.
She loves her happy hut and sleeps in it every
night. She is the quietest of
my birds ( I also have a cockatiel, budgie and
parrotlet) , she sounds like
a little video game. When I tell her to "step
up" she lifts up her little
foot, its so cute. She loves her bell which is on
a chain and she pulls it
up to her perch and them drops it. She likes her
veggies and pellets, but
wont touch seed, she does like millet though. In
the morning when I come
into her room, if I dont uncover her right away,
she peeks her little blue
head out from under her cage cover and makes kissy
sounds as if to say
"dont forget me." How could I, she's so
sweet. Whenever I walk past her cage
and talk to her she stops what she is doing and
comes to the front and hangs
upside down on the bars and watches me with her
big eyes and listens to me.
All of the arrangements to buy her and fly her
here went very smoothly and
every time I email Jo I usually get an answer
right away. Just this week
after having Blu for six months, I had a question
for Jo and she got back to
me quickly with an answer. This shows me that Jo
isn't out there just to
sell birds, she really cares about them. I would
definatley reccomend buying
one of Jo's birds.

Lovebird Reference letter
I "met"
Joanne and Louis Cormier in the Summer of 2002
when I was seeking a few lovebirds to balance my
"flock". I had been cruising
the Internet for several months before a
knowledgeable American Breeder pointed me in the
direction of Tiny Rascals Aviary. I was
impressed with the web site hosted by the
Cormiers, and their obvious effort to help new
and experienced lovebird enthusiasts understand
the many lovebird mutations and species that
were available.
The countless hours
they spent on improving their web page and their
affection for the birds in their stud convinced
me that they were people who really enjoyed what
they were doing, and that the health and welfare
of their birds came first. I e-mailed them
and was delighted with their willingness to ship
birds. Joanne clearly explained when and
under what conditions she would ship her
birds. She discussed the environment they
would be travelling in ( temperature controlled
cabin), the food and water situation and further
simplified the entire process by ensuring that
the shipping process went off without a hitch
(she set up all of the arrangements !!).
The birds arrived in
Saskatchewan in perfect health after several
hours in flight. I was amazed and
gratified. I called the Cormiers to
confirm their safe arrival. My family and I have
now enjoyed countless hours of enjoyment and
entertainment watching them adapt to their new
surroundings.
Joanne and Louis
made the bird selection process enjoyable and
memorable. They discussed favourite treats
for the birds, fresh vegetable staples, seed and
pellet types and were always willing to "talk"
( electronically or over the phone) with me when
I had questions. Louis was a fount of
knowledge when it came to genetics and colour
inheritance in lovebirds and helped me to
understand the potential offspring mutations
arising from the birds I purchased.
I would not hesitate
to recommend the Cormiers to anyone interested
in purchasing lovebirds, and wanting to ensure
they had reliable and dependable breeders who
really cared about the welfare of their birds.
Sincerely,
J. Matthews

In
Nov 02, I was researching pet birds.. I thought
wanted to get a parrot,
but knew nothing about birds in general. After
finding Jo's website and
asking a few questions I made up my mind.. ! She
answered all my questions
and assured me that my life would change
dramatically. :) And so much for
the better!
I never owned a bird before Ducky and now only 6
months later, I can't
imagine my life without him. Joanne is always
there ready to answer any
questions for me, and very quickly. When I drove
to her home to pick up
Ducky, I was very impressed at the care and
attention they all receive..
they probably eat better than a lot of us do!
She takes the time to
explain things to us layman.. and shows so much
love for each of her pairs
and babies..
I was nervous about bringing Ducky home,
thinking he may be "nippy" as I
read they can be, needless to say I've never had
a problem, he was raised
with such care and love that he bonded to me
within a matter of days.
Since then he's been my velcro birdie going
everywhere with me.
Only a few short months ago I knew nothing about
lovebirds, since then
I've become "trained" quite well ..
and wouldn't think twice about living
with out him.. I've read a lot of articles and
forums from people who
purchased their lovebirds from petstores and
were not hand raised. Most
are very sad, cause they can't experience the
full amount of love these
lovies can give.
I can't thank Jo enough for all she's done for
me and I hope you are as
happy with her and her lovies,as Ducky and I are
together..

Subject: RE: Turk
I
purchased a lineolated parakeet from Joanne
and Louis in the fall of 2002. Prior to
actually purchasing the bird, I was doing
research on linnies to find out if they would
be a suitable pet for me. Joanne
provided me with loads of information
regarding the personalities and care of these
wonderful little birds and reassured me that a
linnie would be a perfect pet for me.
She was always prompt with her email responses
and gave me honest and thorough answers to all
my questions. Once I decided that I
wanted to purchase the bird, she made all the
appropriate arrangements and took care of
everything. All I had to do was zip out
to the airport to pick up my new little
friend, who apparently flew in First Class to
boot!! Joanne was wonderful afterwards
as well, providing support and help in
getting Turk and I comfortable in our new
living arrangements. I highly recommend Tiny Rascals
to anyone considering purchasing a pet
bird. Not only was Turk wonderfully
socialized and friendly when I received him,
Joanne made the whole process easy and
provided me with all the necessary information
every step of the way. If I ever consider
getting another bird, I will definitely call
on Joanne and Louis again, I am extremely
happy with my new friend and the service I
received along the way. Thanks again
Joanne and Louis!!
